“It's been 15 years since I left Italy to work for different international organizations. My husband works in the same area. Since we both had interesting careers, we decided to follow one another in turn. And this
is what we have actually done. It is always interesting to live and work abroad, but there are sacrifices to make. It is not easy for a man or a woman to leave their job, their country, their friends and to have to follow their partner to solely look after the children. More flexibility in transfer policies could make things a little easier.”
