“The arrival of my daughter changed my career completely. My area was emergency response, which means that I'd get a 48-hour notice before
I was on the plane and I'd be gone for at least a month. You can't do this kind of work and have a family. I've been lucky to have had two careers already, one as an architect and one as a humanitarian worker, and to have achieved something in both. It made it easier for me to accept being stuck in Geneva with a baby, not having enough work, and being supported by my partner (which is also lucky).”
