"Non esisteva una legge. Mi dicevano che non era il caso di far stare dei bambini a scuola tutti i giorni in un'azienda agricola"
Exploring the opportunity of early childhood education in the rural context. In general, while the evidence of the positive impact of early childhood education on people’s life is striking, access and quality of this education remain a problem virtually everywhere. Among the many ideas emerged in recent years is to take the opportunity of the rural environment: more space is available, costs are lower and there are so many stimulus and interesting learning for kids in the country side, which they would hardly get in a city, unless they belong to extremely privileged families.
There are examples of successful projects in Europe (i.e.” La Piemontesina” - Torino, "L'Esperienza" - Marcerata) and elsewhere and it is fascinating to tell the story of this practice, which one would argue is as old as humanity (rural is where education used to start), but also offers services that are innovative and very interesting in economic terms. The objectives of this photos are to raise awareness on the opportunity of the “agri-crèche”, and suggest ways in which scale up could happen in the context of the rural-urban dynamic.
